I have always loved yoga and walking, so bringing them together for a weekend away seemed like the perfect combination for me.
The benefits of walking and being out in nature are well documented. Going for a walk is one of the best ways of reducing stress levels, and being in a beautiful location, in the hills or by a lake, coastline or river is especially soothing. The rhythmic pace of a walk has a calming effect and the physiological effect of reducing blood pressure and increasing heart rate, also help to reduce levels of the stress hormone, cortisol.
Yoga also has a positive impact on the mind and the body, when you combine the two you get a double dose of wellness and the feel good factor.
On a yoga and walking weekend you can immerse yourself in an environment that awakens your senses, and sooths your soul. You can switch off, allowing someone else to guide you and provide for you. Our weekends always include nourishing and delicious food to feed your body and soul.
Bringing yoga and walking together provides a perfect balance as once you have worked your heart and lungs out walking, any tight muscles can be gently eased to reduce risk of injury and increase flexibility.
