Set in the heart of the Lake District, Glaramara is surrounded by some of the finest mountains and lakes in the country. It is one of the finest walking locations anywhere in the country, with majestic mountains and Lakeland fells as well as tranquil lakes, waterfalls and peaceful woodland, providing captivating scenery for all levels of walkers.
Glaramara, is a purpose-built walking centre located at a commanding position in the beautiful vale of Borrowdale. Renowned for its excellent food, the centre has been extensively refurbished in recent years. All bedrooms are now ensuite and many have lovely views of the surrounding valleys. The spacious lounge has lovely views and a cosy log fire for colder evenings.
We will offer six yoga sessions for those on the three night break and four for the two night stay. There is no requirement to attend all sessions, you can do as many or as few as you wish. The Friday night welcome practice will be a chance to unwind and settle into the beautiful surroundings. The early morning practice on Saturday will wake up our bodies and prepare us for the day of walking ahead.
On Saturday evening we will have a chance to stretch those tired muscles and relax. The Sunday morning practice will be a gentle session designed to ease us into another day of walking or prepare you for your journey home. On Sunday evening we will have another opportunity to stretch those tired limbs and the final Monday morning practice will be designed to leave you calm and chilled.
There is the option to take our yoga classes outside at this venue if weather permits. All classes will be suitable for all abilities, with equipment and props provided.
Glaramara offers some truly wonderful high-level options. England’s highest mountain Scafell Pike lies within a day’s walk of the centre, as does the beautiful Great Gable. There is also Glaramara, Allen Crags, Eagle Crag, Sergeant Crag, High Raise, Ullscarf, Dale Head, Hindscarth and Robinson, which are all accessible walks from the front door of the centre.
There are also beautiful lower walk options that include Castle Crag, Kings How and Bessy Boot, Styhead Pass and Sprinkling Tarn, as well as the dramatic scenery of Dale Head Tarn and the Newlands valley.
